About Cuddles: Welcome to our new website. This is Cuddles Cattery, the only 5-Star Cat Hotel in the West of Ireland, where all cuddles are free! If you are looking for a home from home holiday experience for your much-loved cat while you are away, then you have certainly come to the right place. We understand that you are looking for somewhere reliable so that you and your cat will have a stress-free holiday and most importantly your cat will relax in purrfect comfort for the duration of his or her stay in our luxury 5-Star facility.
Our Permanent Residents: Here are pictures of Dougal and Ted, who live here. Dougal has just three legs and no tail, but he gets around okay... sometimes he falls over but that doesn't stop him trying... Dougal can run faster than Ted! Ted is a real divil! He knows who is boss (he is!) and usually gets his own way. He gets up to all kinds of mischief but I love him to bits.

A bit about Muriel: Next there is me (Muriel)... after quite a few years doing other things, my dream finally came true when I opened the doors of Cuddles Cattery for the first time on 4th July 2005. The main reason I opened Cuddles was because I could not find a cattery of a good enough standard to board my own cats locally. Galway had not much to offer in the way of cat boarding then (and I continue to board my own cats in a cattery similar to mine in Dublin). I toured the country and looked at many catteries prior to setting up so that I could build the best facility possible, and that is what Cuddles is.
Accommodation: Each cat's private area consists of sleeping quarters to the rear, which can be closed off completely to keep your cat snug in bad weather. There is a radiator in each sleeping quarters and this is on any time the weather is cold (including summertime when it shouldn't be cold!). Each sleeping quarters opens out into its own exercise run through a full size safety-glass/PVC door, and your cat can choose to access the run via a cat flap when the door is closed. The bottom half of each run is made from white PVC and the top half is made of toughened safety glass. Each exercise run has its own viewing platform where cats like to sit and watch the birds on the many bird feeders around the garden and take in the surrounding countryside. Some cats also like to keep an eye on what their feline neighbours are up to! Each run opens out via a sturdy mesh door to the escape-proof safety corridor, which is vital if your cat happens to be a "Houdini" - and we've had a few of those chancers here over the years!
Dogs: Dogs are not allowed to stay at Cuddles... many cats do not like the sight or sound of dogs and for that reason Cuddles is a Dog Free Zone.
Meals: Guests are fed wet and/or dry food (according to their normal diets) twice daily as a rule. However, we sometimes make exceptions and feed more often, particularly when we have very young guests staying. We keep a large range of the more popular quality foods here. However, if your cat is on a special diet we would ask that you bring sufficient food for his/her stay.
Room Service: Room Service is provided for all guests as required, with an absolute minimum of 6 visits to each cat per day and usually many, many more....
Safety: Cuddles Cattery puts your cat's safety and comfort first so that you can have total peace of mind while you are unable to care for him or her. Built by Pedigree Pens, Cuddles Cattery conforms to the highest specifications possible and complies with the standards set by the UK Feline Advisory Bureau. It is made from PVCu and toughened safety glass. Guests can get plenty of fresh air through the outer sturdy mesh panels. Unlike timber, the PVCu does not become infected with fungal infections such as ringworm. It does not require the application of toxic preservatives and is very easy to keep clean.
Supervision: The cats are constantly supervised and the cattery is securely located directly behind and in full view of the house.
